Two ways to start. A free fit call, or the Position Check in writing.

Two ways to start

A free 15-minute fit call, or straight to the written answer

Every tax file here starts with a written Position Check. The fit call is where we make sure it is the right first step for you — and where we will say so if you don’t need one. If you already know, skip the call and start it now.

Already know where you stand? Start the Position Check

Cross-border, $250. A second look at a filed return, $195. Your written answer comes back three to four business days after we have your file, and the fee is credited in full toward the work if you engage within 60 days.

Start the Position Check

Or book a time on the right and we’ll work out which one fits.

  • Someone who does the work, not a sales repYou speak with our U.S. or Canadian Tax Desk.
  • A straight read, not tax adviceWe can’t advise on a file we haven’t seen. The answer comes in writing, after the call.
  • Five minutes to prepareThree short questions in the form, so the call is about you, not the basics.

How it works

Three steps — and the call is the optional one

  1. 1Step one

The call, if you want it

Fifteen minutes. You tell us what’s going on; we tell you which Position Check fits, or that you don’t need one. No advice on the call — we haven’t seen anything yet.

  2. 2Step two

    The Position Check, in writing

$250 for cross-border, $195 for a second look at a filed return. You answer the intake questions and upload your returns; three to four business days later you have it: what to file, what it costs, what happens if you don’t, and a plan with each step priced.

  3. 3Step three

    The work, on your terms

Engage us for any of the work within 60 days and the Position Check fee comes off that bill in full. Or take the report and run it yourself. Either way, the report is yours.

Why we start this way

Fifteen minutes can’t answer a tax question. A written Position Check can.

A call with someone we’ve just met, whose returns we haven’t seen, can only give you a direction. We don’t pretend otherwise — the call is free because it isn’t the product.

What the call is for

  • Which Position Check fits, if any
  • Whether we’re the right firm for your file
  • Your questions about how it works

What the Position Check is for

  • Reading your actual returns and numbers, on both sides of the border where it applies
  • The answer in writing: what to file, what it costs, what happens if you don’t
  • A plan priced step by step, that you can run with us or without us

The call is with the desk that writes your report

Not a sales rep, not a junior screener. Your first call is with our U.S. Tax Desk or Canadian Tax Desk — the same people who read your file and write the Position Check. You get a straight read on which check fits your situation, or that you don’t need one.

Quick answers

Is the call really free?

Yes. Fifteen minutes, no payment, no obligation. It isn’t where the answer comes from, though — that’s the Position Check, $250 for cross-border or $195 for a second look at a filed return. Engage us within 60 days and the fee is credited in full toward the work.

Do I have to take the call?

No. If you already know what you need, start the Position Check and skip it. The call is for people who aren’t sure which one fits — or whether they need one at all.

What should I have ready?

The three short questions in the booking form take about five minutes. Beyond that, your last filed return nearby helps. If you can’t find it, book anyway.

What does the Position Check give me?

What to file, what it costs, and what happens if you don’t — in writing, with each step priced. If you stop after the report, you keep the report.

Who will I be talking to?

Our U.S. Tax Desk or Canadian Tax Desk — the people who do the work, not a sales rep. The same desk writes your Position Check.
